PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for converting rotation into linear motion, which obtains a high positioning accuracy even in mutual conversion between rotary motion and linear motion. SOLUTION: The mechanism includes a plurality of rollers 2 each having a roller annular groove part 2a having, on the outer peripheral surface, an annular groove rolling in mesh with a thread part of a rod, and a pair of thrust bearings 2e supporting the roller annular groove part 2a rotatably around a roller shaft 2b. The roller further includes a thrust support part 2e4 of projecting shape integral with the roller shaft 2b and provided on the outer peripheral surface of one end of the roller shaft 2b to be held between the pair of thrust bearings 2e; a stepped surface 2n provided on the inner peripheral surface of the roller annular groove part 2a and facing the thrust support part 2e4 while holding one of the pair of thrust bearings 2e in between; a thrust facing part 2e5 having an outer peripheral surface screwed with the inner peripheral surface of the roller annular groove part 2a, and facing the thrust support part 2e4 while holding the other of the pair of thrust bearings 2e in between so that the space with the stepped surface 2n is changeable; and a lock nut 2e6 screwed with the thrust facing part 2e5 and brought into pressure contact with the roller annular groove part 2a.
