PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable control method of a car washing facility that is added with a function to spray a highly foaming detergent for forming a foam layer of the detergent on the surface of an automobile. SOLUTION: A gate-type traveling car washing machine 50 travels from a retreat limit position BP toward an advance limit position FP in a state where a traveling body 22 stands by at a home position HP. A vehicle-shape sensor 52 provided to the gate-type traveling car washing machine 50 detects a rear end position Crp of an automobile C to be washed. A time period T necessary for the traveling body 22 to travel from the home position HP to the automobile rear end position Crp is calculated based on the detected position. The traveling body 22 starts from the home position HP after the gate-type traveling car washing machine 50 starts traveling toward the retreat limit position BP.
