The invention describes a light-emitting means, in particular for light in the visible wavelength range, comprising: at least one semiconductor element (14a, 14b), in particular one LED, as light source; a carrier substrate (12), on which the at least one semiconductor element is arranged; at least one base (4), which holds the light-emitting means in a corresponding lampholder and is in electrical contact therewith; and a housing (6), which is fixed on the base, houses the carrier substrate (12) and has at least one light-transmissive opening, through which light emitted by the semiconductor element (14a, 14b) emerges. The semiconductor element (14a, 14b) is a semiconductor chip without a housing, said semiconductor chip being mechanically and/or electrically connected to the carrier substrate (12) by direct connection means; and the at least one semiconductor chip is provided with at least one beam-shaping component part (16) for conditioning the emitted light, wherein, once the semiconductor element has been arranged, the beam-shaping component part is arranged permanently in the beam path of the light emitted by the semiconductor chip. |
