COMPOSITE PARTICLES AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

Disclosed are composite particles containing titanium dioxide, which do not undergo the deterioration in degree of white tint of titanium dioxide (which may occur upon heating/burning) and have excellent weather resistance. In each of the composite particles, an oxide layer comprising silicon oxide and zirconium oxide is used as a coating component for titanium dioxide. Thus, specifically disclosed are: composite particles each of which comprises a base material comprising titanium dioxide and an oxide layer arranged on the base material and comprising silicon oxide and zirconium oxide; and a process for producing the composite particles.
