NODE DEVICE, VIRTUAL PORT ID ALLOCATION METHOD OF THE SAME, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a node device capable of reducing the number of virtual port IDs to be used.

SOLUTION: The node device is provided for performing multicast communication. The node device has: a physical port memory for storing a physical port that the node device has; and a combination calculator in which a set of physical ports is read from the physical port memory, the read-out set of physical ports is divided into a plurality of sets, the number of all combinations of physical ports in each of the divided sets is calculated and virtual port IDs are determined as many as a number settled within a range to be written in a packet header on the basis of the combinations and virtual port IDs are then allocated.
