PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress useless consumption of an ink because of excessive cleaning while setting of cleaning for each plurality of user PCs connected to a network is reflected. SOLUTION: User information such as a request cleaning level is received for each plurality of user PCs. When a printing job is received, a cleaning intervalΔT is set on the basis of a previous cleaning level, and an execution cleaning level is set on the basis of the previous cleaning level and the request cleaning level received from the user PC which transmits the printing job (S120 and S130). If a time passed after cleaning of the last time is not shorter than the cleaning intervalΔT, cleaning is performed by the execution cleaning level, and also a printing process is executed on the basis of the printing job after the cleaning (S140-S190).
