摘要 Disclosed is a ceramic honeycomb structure having a multitude of flow paths separated by porous partitioning walls, wherein the partitioning walls satisfy the following: (a) the porosity is 55-80%; (b) the median pore diameter (D50) measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry is 5 to 27 µm; (c) the opening area percentage of pores that are open in the surface is 20% or greater; (d) if the pores that are open in the surface are expressed in circle-equivalent diameter, the median opening diameter (d50) found on the basis of area is 10 to 45 µm; (e) the density of pores that are open in the surface and that have circle-equivalent diameters of 10 µm or larger and smaller than 40 µm is 350 pores/mm2 or greater; (f) the maximum slope of a curve showing the cumulative pore volume to the pore diameter found by measuring the pore distribution by mercury intrusion porosimetry is 1.6 or greater; and (g) the ratio (D50/d50) between the median pore diameter (D50) and the median opening diameter (d50) is 0.65 or less.
