<p>When manual focus adjustment operations are initiated by a user, focusing information is automatically projected and displayed on a screen. A projection unit (10) projects an image on a screen (300) via a focus lens (13). An imaging unit (30) images the screen. A manually operated focus-ring (15) is provided on the projection unit (10). A focus evaluation value calculation unit (42) acquires an image which has been imaged by the imaging unit (30), and calculates, as a focus evaluation value, a characteristic value which changes according to the focus state of the image projected on the screen. When the focus evaluation value changes, an evaluation value change detection unit (44) determines that the focus-ring (15) is being operated by a user. When it is determined that the focus-ring (15) is being operated, a focus adjustment assist unit (70) combines the focusing information, which is for supporting focus adjustment, with the image and projects and displays the result.</p> |
