PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program preference estimating apparatus, along with an image viewing system, program viewing confirmation method and a program, capable of determining whether users really view a broadcast program, and capable of carrying out analysis to estimate the programs of user's preference. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a photographing device for photographing users that are viewing a program displayed on a program viewing means, a recorder that records viewing manners to the program from the images photographed by the photographing device in association with the program, and an estimator for estimating the programs of users' preference based on the viewing manners.
