PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having less gaps, by minimizing the liquid crystal material loss and the use of a cleaning solvent, in a method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: Liquid crystal material wraparound can be prevented, by forming a seal stopper portion 2503a outside a peripheral seal portion 2503, and in addition, by enhancing the degree of symmetry of the seal pattern and by forming a damming portion 2508 at an injection port 2504, and by making the gap unevenness within the liquid crystal display device reduce.
