PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an automatic transmission in which pull-in torque generated due to generation of clutch torque in an ON side (a gear stage of a change gear destination) of a torque phase on a gear change is independent of responsiveness of hydraulic pressure of a clutch. SOLUTION: Engine torque Te1, Te2 before and after gear change is estimated. Based on the estimated engine torque Te1, Te2 before and after gear change, variation ΔTRQ of the engine torque is calculated so that in the torque phase, engine torque Te is once rapidly decreased (ΔTRQ=ΔTRQst) by a quantity equivalent to output torque after gear change (Te2×i2/i1, i1: a gear ratio of the gear stage before gear change, i2: a gear ratio of the gear stage after gear change), and afterwards gradually recovers to an inertia phase (ΔTRQ=ΔTRQst+ΔTRQon).
