<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer peripheral apparatus for reducing power consumed under the conditions in which the computer peripheral apparatus does not need to maintain connection and achieving the effect of power saving. <P>SOLUTION: The computer peripheral apparatus includes an USB hub, build-in card readers, and a controller. Among them, each build-in card reader connects an electric signal to a build-in downstream USB port, and the controller connects and controls the electric signal to the USB hub and the build-in card readers while monitoring necessity of connection of each build-in card reader. The controller sets the state of the corresponding build-in downstream USB port to the first state and certifies that it is not occupied when judging that it is not necessary to connect the build-in card reader. Therefore, the controller feeds back to a computer host that the build-in downstream USB port is not occupied, and achieves the effect of power saving by making the computer peripheral apparatus into a sleep mode when it does not have other USB devices connected to other downstream USB ports. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
