Disclosed is a methodology for developing an anti-cancer agent that has a superior effect on various types of cancer to those of conventional anti-cancer agents. Specifically disclosed are: a method for establishing an artificial cell, comprising treating a cancer cell with an expression vector for a foreign oncogene and culturing the cancer cell that has been treated with the expression vector under the conditions where the expression or function of an oncogene inherent to the cancer cell is inhibited; the established artificial cell; a method for screening for an anti-cancer agent, comprising evaluating whether or not a substance to be tested inhibits the proliferation of the artificial cell; and a method for identifying an oncogene, comprising treating a cancer cell with an expression vector for a gene to be tested and culturing the cancer cell that has been treated with the expression vector under the conditions where the expression or function of an oncogene inherent to the cancer cell is inhibited.
