PURPOSE: A light emitting diode and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to implement high durability to a reverse direction of ESD(Electrostatic Discharge) by using light transmission electrode of lamination structure of unit laminated film having 2DEG effect. CONSTITUTION: In a light emitting diode and a method of manufacturing the same, a light-emitting structure(20) is formed on a substrate(10). The light-emitting structure emits light through the recombination of electronics and holes. The light-emitting structure includes a n-type semiconductor layer(21), a p-type semiconductor layer, and an active layer. A light transmission electrode(30) is formed on the light-emitting structure. The light transmission electrode prevents the breaking down or malfunction of the light-emitting structure according to electrostatic discharge.
