<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet having a stable attaching force to a through hole of a vehicle body panel due to its excellent following deformation ability and excellent in its restoring force after the deformation. <P>SOLUTION: In the grommet 10 externally attached to a wire harness 25 arranged in a vehicle and attached to the through hole 21 of the vehicle body panel 20, a protruding part 12 in a direction to an outer diameter is provided on an outer peripheral surface of one end of a small diameter tubular part 11 into which the wire harness 25 is inserted in close contact. A large diameter tubular part 13 is allowed to be continuous from an outer peripheral end of the protruding part 12 in the direction of the outer diameter. On an outer peripheral surface of the large diameter tubular part 13, an annular vehicle body engaging recessed part 14 is provided. In a part that the small diameter tubular part 11 is continuous to the protruding part 12 in the direction of the outer diameter, an expansion and contraction part 15 is provided in an annular form which protrudes in the same direction as that of the large diameter tubular part 13 and then folded back to have a U shape. On an inner peripheral surface of a boundary position between the expansion and contraction part 15 and the small diameter tubular part 11, a stepped part S is provided to make the expansion and contraction part 15 thinner than the small diameter tubular part 11, and an annular rib 18 is provided on an outer peripheral surface.
