The unit (1) has a surgical instrument (5) e.g. bipolar instrument, comprising active and neutral electrodes (AE, NE) and connectable with a high frequency (HF) generator (3) over a spacer (7). The neutral electrode is connected with the HF generator over another spacer (9), where the spacers are provided with shields (11, 13), respectively. Decoupling capacitors (Cae,Cne) are arranged at a distal end of each spacer, where the shields of the spacers are grounded over a common ground path (15). A current measurement device (17) measures leakage current (Ileck) flowing via the path. |
