The assembly has front and rear elements (12, 14) extended in a prolongation from one another along a longitudinal direction of a vehicle. The front element is fixed on the rear element by forming a covering zone (16) having variable length. The elements are hollow bodies. Each body is formed by an inner section (14a) and an outer section (12b), where the inner section and the outer section are assembled by welding. A front portion (14c) of the rear elements is configured to be welded inside or an outer surface of a rear portion (12c) of the front element. An independent claim is also included for a structure for a motor vehicle, comprising a floor.
