PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging apparatus to package an article without a tray. SOLUTION: The packaging apparatus 1 includes: a placement section 2 for placing an article 100 on a film 50; a sealing section 3 for folding back the film 50 placed with the article 100, thereby forming the same into a bag shape, and sealing the edges of the film 50, thereby forming a bag body containing the article 100; a conveying unit 14 that conveys the film 50 placed with the article 100, from the placement section 2 to the sealing section 3; and a position informing means for informing of a position at which the article 100 is placed on the film 50 in the placement section 2.
