PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a funnel-shaped separator capable of easily performing operation for allowing an examinee to vomit the bitten pieces of a mastication efficiency measuring material masticated for a definite time along with saliva in a mastication efficiency measuring method to separate the bitten pieces of the mastication efficiency measuring material and saliva, not having a defect that a round hole part formed by punching processing is left without being removed from a funnel paper material like a conventional funnel-shaped separator and capable of being manufactured inexpensively and easily. SOLUTION: The funnel-shaped separator 1 for allowing the examinee to vomit the bitten pieces of the mastication measuring material masticated for the definite time along with saliva to separate the bitten pieces and the saliva is constituted so that a large number of undulating notches 1b of a definite pitch are provided at predetermined positions radial from the region 1a becoming the conical apex part of a sheetlike base material having water resistance formed into a conical shape in use.
