METHOD FOR CLEANING NICKEL CHLORIDE SOLUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for cleaning a nickel chloride solution by precipitating the cobalt deposit having an Ni/Co ratio of≤3 from the nickel chloride solution having high cobalt concentration.

SOLUTION: The method includes: obtaining the nickel chloride solution having nickel concentration of 90-130 g/L and that of cobalt of 1.0-3.0 g/L by adjusting the blending ratio of a nickel leach liquid having high cobalt concentration with the waste liquid of nickel electrolysis for cleaning the nickel chloride solution; adding an oxidant to the nickel chloride solution to control a redox potential to 600-1,200 mV (based on an Ag/AgCl electrode); and controlling pH to be 4.0 to 6.0 using a neutralizing agent.
