PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce drive noise by reducing the number of times of driving start and stopping in a camera shake correcting operation of a camera shake correcting device. SOLUTION: In motion picture taking in which noise decreasing performance of the camera shake correcting device is desired, a lens unit for correcting camera shake is moved only in the one direction from a lens position "0" toward a target position LM, and when the present position LN of the lens unit exceeds a target position LM, the lens unit is stopped in an overcorrecting position. Thus, bending points on a route line of the present position LN in which drive noise is easily generated from the camera shake correcting device, are remarkably reduced, which reduces the drive noise.
