PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically generate and present extremely various geometrical patterns. SOLUTION: A device for automatically generating a pattern includes a pattern component generating processing part 11 that selects a pattern component generating processing to be executed from a plurality of pattern component generating methods in a random manner and performs the pattern component generating processing using the plurality of pattern component generating methods selectively or by combination, a pattern developing processing part 12 for developing the generated pattern component, a pattern display processing part 13 for displaying the developed pattern with a displaying means, a pattern determining processing part 14 that receives an operation input by an input operating means that indicates whether to employ the displayed pattern, performs the pattern component generating processing again when it indicates negation of employment of the pattern, and performs the pattern employment determining processing when the operation input indicates affirmation of employment of the pattern, a pattern storage processing part 15 for storing the pattern whose employment is determined in an auxiliary storage 3, and a file output processing part 16 for performing output processing, to the outside, the image file of the pattern whose employment is determined by the pattern determining processing part 14 and that is stored in the auxiliary storage 3.
