PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly prevent a theft while improving the convenience of a user. SOLUTION: This on-vehicle machine includes a control unit 30 in which a security mode requiring an authentication by the user is provided as an operation mode and which performs a reset operation using, as a trigger, the occurrence of a predetermined event including such an event that the supply of power from the vehicle is stopped due to the dismounting of the on-vehicle machine from the vehicle. The control unit 30 stores, in an EEPROM 38, trigger information data 45 which is the information indicating the event serving as a trigger for reset processing. Also, the control unit discriminates whether the operation mode is moved to a security mode or not based on the trigger information data 45 stored in the EEPROM 38 when the reset processing is performed.
