An alternating current contactor with an electronic type short circuit self-locking function comprises an alternating current contactor body (a) including a shell inside which a short circuit self-locking unit is disposed. The short circuit self-locking unit includes: a current collecting unit (b) for collecting a current signal of a phase line (A, B, C); a short circuit detecting unit (c) which obtains a voltage signal indicating the current signal, compares the voltage signal with a reference signal and outputs a short circuit detecting signal when a short circuit occurs; a short circuit self-locking executing unit (d) which obtains the short circuit detecting signal to trigger the body (a) of the alternating current contactor to generate and maintain a breaking action; and a self-locking releasing unit (e) which releases self-locking of the body (a) of the alternating current contactor and resets.
