PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a stator for a rotary electric machine that is superior in terms of windage loss, aligning performance, electrical resistance, and coil assembly workability. SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes a stator core 1 having a pair of opposing teeth 11 and a pair of yokes 10 forming a slot 5 between the teeth 11 by bridging the pair of teeth and extending in parallel in a teeth extending direction, a concentrating winding coil 8 which is inserted into the slot 5 after being aligned and wound in a layer shape in advance so as to have a rectangular cross sectional shape, has conductors aligned in one row which are disposed in the slot to form a layer, and also has the coil end which inclines at coil ends 8a so as to become low from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side, sheet-like insulating member 9 arranged and installed along the slot 5 of the stator core 1 and the inner peripheral surfaces of the yokes 10 extended in parallel and interposed between the concentrating winding coil 8 and the stator core 1, and a rotor disposed on the inner peripheral side of the pair of teeth 11.
