PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power monitoring system capable of informing a user that new information can be viewed. SOLUTION: In this system, an image data generating section 3c of an energy management unit 3 generates image data for indicating the information to be provided which concerns usage power in a building, on the basis of at least either power information presented by a power company or a result of measurement of electrical energy consumed inside the building. A display means, such as, a display controller CV or a personal computer PC displays the presented information generated by the image data generating section 3c, by exchanging the information between itself and the energy management unit 3. When the image data generating section 3c generates new presented information, the control section 3b of the energy management unit 3 conducts a radio communication section 3e to transmit a broadcast signal by a radio signal. Upon the receipt of the broadcast signal, broadcasting terminals 5a-5c by having the new presented information generated, for example, by a notifying LED lit, that new information is generated is notified.
