PURPOSE: A resistance-variable friction damper is provided to effectively cope with various magnitudes of external loads through a plurality of friction behavior sections having different friction resistances. CONSTITUTION: A resistance-variable friction damper comprises a first supporter(110) which is supported on a structure or damping rod, a second supporter(120) which is connected and slid on the top of the first supporter, a cover plate part(140) which includes first and second cover plates and a connector, a first friction plate which is installed between the first supporter and the first cover plate, a second friction plate which is installed between the second supporter and the second cover plate, and a fastening unit(150) which includes a first fastener connecting the first cover plate and the first friction plate to have a first friction resistance and a second fastener connecting the second cover plate and the second friction plate to have a second friction resistance different from the first friction resistance.
