PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a job monitoring system and a job monitoring program which can remotely monitor the start of a predetermined job at predetermined time and the end status of the job without installing an agent in a computer to be monitored. SOLUTION: A job management server includes an environment file which stores environment setting information and an intermediate log file which stores intermediate logs. The job monitoring program reads a log from a job log file of a server to be monitored at predetermined time based on the environment setting information, determines a state of a monitored job and outputs the determined result to the intermediate log file. Further, a log transmission program reads an intermediate log at each predetermined time from the intermediate log file and transmits the read intermediate log to a remote monitoring server via a communication line.
