<p>A header (10) is described for a harvester having a cutter and an auger powered from a PTO shaft of the harvester by means of respective transmissions. Each transmission includes drive and driven sheaves (18, 22) or sprockets coupled to one another by a continuous drive belt (20) or chain. In the invention, at least one of the drive and driven sheaves (18, 22) or sprockets of the transmissions driving the cutter and the auger is coupled to an associated shaft by means of a torsional vibration compensator (60), such as a friction damper.</p> |
