<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display device which has a bright screen reduced in flicker and cross-talk without causing the deterioration of a resolution. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic display device includes: a liquid crystal display having a first image-forming region and a second image-forming region which are composed of a plurality of horizontal lines; and optical means having a first polarization region and a second polarization region disposed correspondingly to the first image-forming region and the second image-forming region, respectively, and a light shield placed at a boundary of them. Frame images for a right eye and a left eye are displayed in the first image-forming region and the second image-forming region, respectively, and these regions are alternately switched or overwritten each time when the frames are switched to each other. The lighting control of a backlight is synchronized with the timing of switching between the first image-forming region and the second image-forming region and the state of a phase difference between the right and left parts of polarization glasses is alternately switched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
