PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered compact having an excellent hardness, its manufacturing method and a cutting tool having an excellent wear resistance.

SOLUTION: The sintered compact includes a cubic crystal-type sialon having a crystal structure of a cubic crystal and at least one kind of metal selected from iron, cobalt, nickel, a group 4 element, a group 5 element and a group 6 element.
