PURPOSE: A stick for mountain climbing is provided to enable a user to easily adjust the length of the stick without tightening or release thereof. CONSTITUTION: A stick for mountain climbing comprises a main pole, an opening and shutting controller, a multistage extension pole, and a stream passage pipe. The main pole(1) has internal pressure through the filling of oil and the injection of gas. The opening and shutting controller(3) causes the flow of oil within the main pole. The multistage extension pole is contracted or extended by the influence of the flow of oil. The stream passage pipe facilitates oil circulation within the main pole. In an upper pole(11), an upper chamber is prepared thereinside. A gate shaft(31) makes the upper chamber and lower chamber communicate with each other.
