PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery in which a fusion phenomenon can be prevented that occurs at a contact time of a short-circuit plate. SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly 10, a case 40 that houses the electrode assembly; a cap assembly 50 that seals the case and includes a lid plate 51 having a short-circuit hole 51c; and a short-circuit member 60 which includes a first short-circuit plate 61 that is installed in the short-circuit hole, a second short-circuit plate 62 that is installed in the outside separated from the lid plate so as to cover the short-circuit hole, and a third short-circuit plate 63 that is installed between the first short-circuit plate and the second short-circuit plate.
