PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform connecting work without receiving thermal influence on a resin connecting pipe 28 in a painting and drying process of a fuel tank, in a method of manufacturing a fuel tank unit. SOLUTION: This fuel tank unit 10 includes the fuel tank 12, a rollover valve 26, the resin connecting pipe 28, a connector 30 and a sealing member 18 having a connecting pipe 24a. When painting an outer wall of the fuel tank 12, the rollover valve 26, the connecting pipe 28 and the connector 30 are arranged in the fuel tank 12, and an installation hole 14b is blocked up by a temporary fastening tool 40, and the connector 30 is positioned by inserting a temporary fastening member 42 into the connector 30. Afterwards, the outer wall of the fuel tank 12 is painted and dried, and the temporary fastening tool 40 is removed from the fuel tank 12, and the connecting pipe 24a and the connector 30 are connected, and are fixed to the fuel tank 12 so as to block up the installation hole 14b by the sealing member 18.
