<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection apparatus performing satisfactory autofocusing (AF) while avoiding upsizing of the apparatus, and the deterioration of brightness and resolution. <P>SOLUTION: The image projection apparatus has: a color separation/composition unit 200 which separates light from a light source 209 into a plurality of colors of light, guides the plurality of colors of light to optical modulation elements 206R, G, B and composes the plurality of colors of light from the optical modulation elements; a projection optical system 100; and an imaging element 207 which images an image projected on a surface to be projected, and the apparatus makes AF adjustment of the projection optical system by using the output of the imaging element. The color separation/composition unit has: an optical film surface where either light of the plurality of colors of light is transmitted or reflected; and an unavailable surface where neither light of the plurality of colors of light is transmitted or reflected. The imaging element is arranged opposite the unavailable surface, and images the image by using the light that is reflected on the surface to be projected, is made incident to the color separation/composition unit through the projection optical system, is transmitted or reflected by the optical film surface, and is emitted from the unavailable surface, out of the projection light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
