PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system that enables a user to confirm a state of use of a remote place by other people without moving. SOLUTION: A human body detection sensor 13 is arranged in a toilet, a bathroom, or the like. Once the human body detection sensor 13 detects a human body being at a periphery thereof, the human body detection sensor 13 transmits a signal indicating that to a master unit 2, and the master unit 2 having been informed outputs a display showing that the toilet or the like is in use from a monitor device 27. When the human body detection sensor 13 detects no human body being in the toilet, the human body detection sensor 13 transmits a signal indicating that to the master unit 2, and the master unit 2 having been informed erases the display showing that the toilet or the like is in use from the monitor device 27.
