PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of satisfying both the improvement in the lubricant agent applying performance of a lubricant agent applying member with respect to an image carrier and the maintenance of the conveyable property up to a residual toner storage part of residual toner removed from the image carrier by a cleaning device. SOLUTION: A copying machine includes: an applying brush 62 rotated to apply a lubricant agent to the surface of a photoreceptor 3; a photoreceptor cleaning device 6 removing the residual toner on the surface of the photoreceptor 3; a first conveying screw 67 conveying the residual toner removed by a cleaning blade 61 to the outside of the photoreceptor cleaning device 6; a horizontal conveying screw conveying the residual toner, conveyed to the outside of the photoreceptor cleaning device 6 by the first conveying screw 67, to a waste toner tank; and the like. The copying machine has: an applying brush motor M1 being a drive source rotating the applying brush 62; and a photoreceptor drive motor M2 being a drive source independent of the applying brush motor M1 and the drive source for the photoreceptor 3 and the first conveying screw 67.
