PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger providing heat transfer performance of the same or more than a copper tube without increasing an internal pressure loss of heat transfer tubes, even when a fin and the heat transfer tubes are composed of an aluminum-based material. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger includes the fin 10 comprising an aluminum-based material with low deformation resistance; the heat transfer tubes 20 having higher deformation resistance than the aluminum-based material composing the fin 10, provided with a groove on an inner face, and comprising an aluminum-based material fixed piercing through the fin 10; and the groove provided substantially in parallel with the tube axis direction of the heat transfer tube on the tube inner face of the heat transfer tube 20. The heat transfer tube 20 and the fin 10 are joined by expanding the heat transfer tube 20 by a mechanical expanding method or a hydraulic expanding method, and the tip width of a crest part of the groove of the heat transfer tube is 0.08-0.18 millimeters after expansion.
