<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make data density of a sub-scanning direction correspondent with data density of a main scanning direction without changing a sampling period even though conveyance speed is different. <P>SOLUTION: A paper sheet identifying apparatus is configured so as to acquire conveying speed of a paper sheet, to perform data interpolation relating to sampling data so that sampling data width of a sub-scanning direction to be acquired based on the acquired conveyance speed and a sampling period of a line sensor is artificially corresponded with sampling data width of a main scanning direction, and to identify the paper sheet using sampling data which makes the sampling data width of the sub-scanning direction to be artificially corresponded with the sampling data width of the main scanning direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
