PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane type compressor reducing manufacturing man-hours, assembling man-hours and cost by reducing the parts count and increasing product management. SOLUTION: In the vane type compressor 1, a housing 2 is constituted by a first housing member 8 in which a cylinder formation part 8a and a rear side block formation part 8b for closing axial one end side of the cylinder formation part 8a are integrally formed; and a second housing member 9 in which a shell formation part 9b for surrounding an outer peripheral surface of the first housing member 8 and a front side block formation part 9a for closing the axial other end side of the cylinder formation part 8a are integrally formed. Between an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder formation part 8a and an outer peripheral surface of a rotor 4, a compression space is formed, in which both axial sides are closed by the rear side block formation part 8b of the first housing member 8 and the front side block formation part 9a of the second housing member 9 and the inside is partitioned to a plurality of compression chambers by the vane 6.
