PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a supporting member from easy deformation and breakage incident to chemical attack while positioning the supporting member appropriately by applying an urging force to the supporting member which supports a medium. SOLUTION: A one-side end of a medium supporting means is supported by an intermediate frame arranged at a home position side. A coil spring 23 which performs the positional regulation of the medium supporting means by making the urging force toward the intermediate frame to a part of the medium supporting means is disposed at an end of the opposite side to the home position side of an ink jet recording head. By this, the liquid can be prevented from easily reaching a position where the coil spring 23 gives the urging force to the medium supporting means, that is, where stress is generated even if the liquid scatters from the ink jet recording head present at the home position side.
