PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning an apparatus for discharging liquid droplets, which favorably removes dirt in an ink flow path for forming conductor patterns in the apparatus for discharging the liquid droplet and also removes clogging of a head for discharging the liquid droplet, and also to provide the apparatus for discharging the liquid droplet. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning the apparatus for discharging liquid droplets is an method for cleaning an apparatus for discharging ink for forming conductive patterns, wherein: the apparatus for discharging the liquid droplet includes a head for discharging the liquid droplet with a discharger which discharges the ink for forming conductive patterns and a path for carrying the ink for forming conductive patterns to the head for discharging the liquid droplet; and the head for discharging the liquid droplet includes a body of the head, a diaphragm, and a piezoelectric element. The ink for forming conductive patterns is sent into the head for discharging the liquid droplet through the path for carrying the ink. The ink for forming conductive patterns is suctioned from the discharger, and the suctioned ink is sent back to the head for discharging the liquid droplet while the piezoelectric element is driven by applied voltages with a frequency between 10 and 300 kHz.
