<p>A control unit (2) controls a pixel circuit (GC) such that an exposure interval (TE), wherein signal voltages are accumulated upon a photoelectric converter element (PD), and a transfer interval (TT), wherein the signal voltages that are accumulated in the exposure interval (TE) are transferred to FD, are repeated. The control circuit (2) divides the exposure interval (TE) into two intervals: a first half interval (TF) and a second half interval (TB). In the first half interval (TF), the control circuit (2) applies a negative bias voltage upon a transfer transistor (TX) gate, and in the second half interval (TB), the control circuit (2) applies an intermediate potential (VM) upon the transfer transistor (TX) gate, in order to drive the pixel circuit (GC), with linear log characteristics.</p> |
