Method and device for regulating an electric motor of a model railway vehicle

The method involves controlling a supply voltage of an electric motor i.e. direct current (DC) motor (14), based on motor speed. Motor turning moment delivered by the electric motor is controlled alternative or complementary to the motor speed. The electric motor is connected with a voltage source (18) by a controllable electrical switching unit (20) during a closing period of the switching unit and separated from the voltage source during an opening period of the switching unit. The motor power is determined from the motor speed and the motor turning moment. An independent claim is also included for a control device for controlling an electric motor of a model railway vehicle.
