An universal refill 1 of liquid 4 comprises a housing 2 having an inner volume and an outer surface, at least one reservoir 3 in the inner volume of the housing for holding the liquid, at least one aperture 5, 6 in the housing sealed by a valve 7, 8. The refill also comprises at least one wick 14 on or connected to the outer surface of the housing, wherein the wick(s) does/do not extend to the inner volume of the housing. A capillary tube 12 may transport the liquid from the reservoir to the wick. The refill is configured to allow the liquid to be extracted by at least two different types of emanation devices, for example pumping, blowing, capillary action, wicking or gravity feed devices. A liquid dispensing system comprises the universal refill and the emanation device, wherein each emanation device is provided with a chassis configured to receive and releasably retain the universal refill. The universal refill is operationally compatible with each emanation device. |
