PURPOSE: A light source driving apparatus is provided to reduce the heat generated in the coils of a transformer or the heat caused by conduction loss of a switching element. CONSTITUTION: A power converting unit(110) switches input power into the preset first power source. A multiplying unit(120) has one or more multiplying cells(121,122,123) which comprise one or more capacitors for charging and discharging the first power source according to the switching of the power converting unit and one or more diodes for providing the transfer path for the first power source according to the switching of the power converting unit. The capacitors and the diodes form a closed loop connected to an input terminal.
