PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and method thereof are provided to increase rendering speed and to reduce the amount of operation in case of performing three dimensional rendering. CONSTITUTION: A first calculation unit performs ray tracing operation about a first pixel and a second pixel of an image. The first calculation unit calculates first geometry information corresponding to the first pixel. A second calculation unit(120) determines the similarity of second geometry information and first geometry information.
