The system has an electronic passage module (26) controlling tilting ratio of an automatic gear box (1) to another ratio of the box. A synchronization module (28) delivers a set point torques calculated according to set point angular acceleration, and transmissible torque calculated according to another acceleration. The two accelerations are controlled, so that the former acceleration converges toward an angular acceleration objective value of an engine (5) i.e. internal combustion engine, before the latter acceleration is not converged toward the objective value of the engine. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a power train of a motor vehicle.
