The microfluidic device comprises first and second substrates comprising a first hydrophobic polysiloxane layer (13) and a second hydrophobic polysiloxane layer (23) respectively. The polysiloxane layers comprise assembling zones (15, 25), and are in mutual contact with each other. The substrates are assembled one another at the assembling zones using an adhesive. The ratio between the linear silicon-oxide (Si-O) bond and cyclic Si-O bond of the polysiloxane layers is = 0.4. The adhesive is based of silicone elastomer and fluorosilicone. The microfluidic device comprises first and second substrates comprising a first hydrophobic polysiloxane layer (13) and a second hydrophobic polysiloxane layer (23) respectively. The polysiloxane layers comprise assembling zones (15, 25), and are in mutual contact with each other. The substrates are assembled one another at the assembling zones using an adhesive. The ratio between the linear silicon-oxide (Si-O) bond and cyclic Si-O bond of the polysiloxane layers is = 0.4. The adhesive is based of silicone elastomer and fluorosilicone, and placed at external end of a joint of the assembling zones. The first and second substrates form a microfluidic cavity for displacement of fluid. The first hydrophobic layer extends to the surface of the first substrate and the second hydrophobic layer extends to the surface of the second substrate to partially define the microfluidic cavity. The first substrate comprises a network of electrodes (11) covering a dielectric layer (12). The first hydrophobic layer covers the dielectric layer and the second substrate comprises a counter-electrode. An independent claim is included for a process for assembling a first substrate and a second substrate to one another.
