<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wire, which can suppress degradation in characteristics due to excess or deficiency in Sn and to provide the Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wire. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn includes: a material preparing step of preparing metal materials containing Nb, Sn, and Cu; a wiring material-forming step of forming the wiring material which contains Nb, Sn, and Cu, with a molar ratio of Sn represented as ax+b(1-x) (0.3≤a≤0.4, 0.02≤b≤0.1), when the molar ratio of Nb and that of Cu are respectively represented by x and (1-x) (0.25≤x≤0.8) with respect to the total of Nb and Cu mole numbers; and a thermal-processing step of performing the thermal process to the wiring material to constitute Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn from Nb and Sn. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
